Visa to the USA

Types of U.S. Visas

America is a developed and beautiful country with countless opportunities for career, education, and life.
Citizens of Kazakhstan can successfully work, build careers, study, improve their qualifications, and travel in the United States.
To enter the country, a mandatory document is required — a U.S. visa.

Types of U.S. Visas

The U.S. visa system is divided into two main categories:

1. Non-Immigrant Visas (temporary stay)

B1/B2 — business and tourist trips: participation in conferences, meetings, tourism, visiting relatives, or medical treatment.
F — student visa for studying at accredited educational institutions in the U.S.
J — for participants of exchange, internship, and cultural programs.
H1B / H2A / H2B — work visas for skilled professionals, temporary agricultural, and non-agricultural workers.
L — for employees of international companies being transferred to U.S. branches.
Visa for individuals with extraordinary abilities — for talented professionals in science, art, sports, education, or business.

2. Immigrant Visas (for permanent residence)

EB (Employment-Based) — immigration through employment (for professionals with higher education, investors, etc.).
Family Immigration — for close relatives of U.S. citizens and Green Card holders.
Diversity Visa (Green Card Lottery) — an annual lottery program for countries with low immigration levels, available to citizens of Kazakhstan.

How to get a US visa?

Determine the purpose of your trip

The most common purposes are tourism, visiting relatives or friends, and business trips.

Register

Register on the official website of the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan.

Prepare for the Interview with a Consular Officer

Not everyone can successfully pass this stage on their own.
Due to inexperience and lack of understanding of the visa officer’s psychology, applicants may make unfortunate mistakes.
That’s why we recommend everyone to use our consultation service before the interview, even if you are 100% confident in yourself.
Sometimes overconfidence prevents you from noticing small details that may lead to a visa refusal.

Fill Out the Application Form

Complete the DS-160 form online in English according to the purpose of your trip.

Pay the Consular Fee

The payment can be used within one year, which is convenient if your plans change and you need to reschedule your trip.

Schedule an Interview at the Embassy

Available dates may vary — sometimes within two weeks, or even in the next few days, so please consider this when planning your trip.
The availability of interview slots also depends on whether you have been refused a visa within the past 12 months and whether you are a citizen of the country where you are applying.
To schedule an interview, you must provide:
  • your passport number,
  • the receipt number confirming payment of the consular fee, and
  • the barcode (ten digits) from the DS-160 confirmation page.
On the scheduled date and time, come to the interview bringing a printed copy of the appointment confirmation letter and a copy of your DS-160 confirmation page.

You will find out whether your visa has been approved or not immediately after the interview.
